Peggy has deep connections to the Kentuckiana region, having grown up in the Highlands of Jefferson County. Her educational journey served as a springboard for her distinguished career in law.

Professional Journey: From Trusts to Private Practice

After completing her education, Peggy spent approximately five years working in a financial trust department where she focused on trusts and estates. She then transitioned into private practice, ultimately founding Timmel Law in 2004. More recently, in January 2026, she co-founded the partnership Timmel Richards Stengel Law, further expanding her presence and impact in the region.


Community and Work Life Balance:

Residing in New Albany for the past 20+ years, Peggy lives just minutes away from the office. Alongside her professional endeavors, she embraces the role of a single "mom" to her cherished 7-year-old Maltese twins, Stella and Archie, who also hold positions as Directors of Goodwill (D. O. G.).

Jessica's roots trace back to Louisville, where she has spent most of her life. Nestled in the Highlands, she shares her home with her husband, a proud native of New Albany, and their two children.

Michele Stengel

Michele Stengel

Retired Judge and Attorney

Personal Background:

Michele grew up in Northern Virginia and Brazil. After attending Virginia Tech for pre-veterinary studies, Michele quickly realized that working with the insides of animals wasn't for her. She moved to Kentucky in 1984 and now lives in Crescent Hill with her husband, Martin, and their two cats, Kaya and Thando.


In 2000, Michele was elected District Court Judge in Jefferson County, KY, where she proudly served for 15 years before retiring to care for her mother before she passed. Martin and Michele returned to Louisville in 2017. They lease land and a barn for their elderly Arabian horses, Aesir and Hanna. They also board horses for a group of wonderful women, forming a close-knit, happy family that brings them great joy.

Eastern Kentucky University: BA in Juvenile Justice and Police Administration
